I qualified in 2006 via a Post Graduate Diploma at SLI (UCLAN). Prior to that I worked in education.
After qualifying I have worked as a Registered Sign Language Interpreter in the domains of legal, financial, medical, mental health, workplace settings, conferences, training, education, social services, public health, local and national government and media. I am currently freelance and available for direct bookings across London and the South East.
I worked in India for a year on placement with VSO (Voluntary Services Overseas) in 2010. I’ve also spent time supporting the Association of Sign Language Interpreters as a Director and I was the first Chair of NUBSLI, the National Union of BSL Interpreters.
I completed my Masters degree in 2016 with a distinction. I write a blog mostly about the effects of privatisation on our profession and other aspects of our profession. I’m currently involved in bookONE, a business aimed at increasing direct bookings of interpreters, a similar aim to this excellent site!
